Peace of mind at a glance - the innovative Gro-egg™ changes colour to let you know at a glance whether the temperature of a room is too low, too high or just right, helping you maintain a safe sleeping environment for your baby. As an added bonus it even works well as a gentle night light.

A yellow glow suggests a comfortable temperature for children to sleep in, whilst a blue glow suggests it's too cold and a red glow suggests it's too warm. The colours act as a reminder for you to cool or heat the room, to modify the baby's clothing, to use a different tog Grobag® Baby Sleep Bag or for non-sleep bag users to alter the level of bedding.

  • Digital thermometer with permanent 'back-lit' LCD readout
  • Gentle night light
  • Instructions and safe sleep information enclosed
  • UK Mains only powered adaptor supplied
  • 10.6cmH
  • Conforms to highest applicable British and European Standards

its a very reasurring device! In this hot weather when our room was reading 27C (!) we moved it to another bedroom which felt cooler & within about 10mins the groeggs reading had gone down to 23.2C, a much better temprature.rnI was doing a night feed the other day & it kept switching from amber to yellow to amber etc as the temperature moved up & down only by one degree. It was quite annoying! But at least it showed it works & is efficent! rnA very good by for a first time

The gro egg over all is very good and acts as a great night light for my daughter and i've even changed a nappy by it! However when it goes blue it lights the room up so bright that it wakes my daughter up and she thinks it's morning... perhaps you could think about this in your next model and make the blue not as bright - we can see if it's blue instead of amber/yellow without it glowing so brightly and disturbing babies sleep. (my daughter is 16 months old)

This is a GREAT product, so easy to see at a glance whether the room is too hot or cold. Perfect for determining which tog grobag to use, and also provides a comforting nightlight, which is useful for checking on baby. I had one of these for my son, who is now 3, unfortunately i gave mine away, but will definitely be buying a second one for baby number 2rnrn

It's warm weather and my Gro-egg is on red and showing the unhappy face. What shall I do?
Take action to reduce the room temperature, bedding and clothing. If it is not possible to bring the room temperature down then you may need to remove all bedding and clothing from your baby, leaving them in just a nappy. Additionally you could use a fan to move air around the room (ensuring it is not within reach of your baby or pointing directly at your baby) and give your baby extra drinks. In extremely warm temperatures, sponge your baby down with luke warm water, If in doubt contact your health professional.

It's cold weather and my Gro-egg is on blue. What shall I do?
Take action to increase room temperature, bedding and clothing. We recommend using a thermostatically controlled heater in the room where the baby is sleeping, which saves your central heating being on a all night (make sure that neither the heater or cable are within reach of your baby's cot). Increase the level of clothing, but always make sure your baby's head is uncovered. If your baby has become cold, give them a warming cuddle or a warm drink before returning them to their cot with extra clothing/bedding.

My Gro-egg doesn't read the temperature I think it should.
The Gro-egg will indicate the temperature of the surrounding air, so cold drafts and adjacent heating will both affect the reading.

I can't see the colour of the Gro-egg very well in daylight.
The colours on the Gro-egg are designed to glow gently and be visible in very low level light or dark conditions. In lighter conditions use the digital readout.

I have plugged in my Gro-egg but the product doesn't seem to be on.
Check that the round switch on the base of the Gro-egg is indented in the ‘on’ position. Check that the power supply lead is securely in place at the back of the Gro-egg.

I've lost the intructions. Where can I get another copy?
