How do you get your children to understand when it's time to get up? SIMPLE "stay in bed until you see the sun!" This updated version of the Gro-clock uses fun images of the stars and sun to communicate when to go back to sleep and when it's time to get up. Due to popular request, this 2010 version of the Gro-Clock has a new feature allowing parents to choose whether or not to display the digital clock during the usual ‘stars to sun’ countdown. So for older children, they can now start to learn digital time, as well as look for the arrival of the sun!

The Gro-clock also comes with a beautifully illustrated book which helps to encourage children to stay in bed longer, which means more sleep for them and more sleep for you! "No more getting up at 5am!". It is this combination of the simple glowing images and the bedtime story book which has already made the Gro-Clock a phenomenal success.

The Gro-clock was recently featured on ITV’s This Morning - Click here to view the link and scroll to 5 minutes in to see the Gro-clock.

Our daughter is younger than the recommended age (she's 16 months) but we were getting desperate after months of 5am wakings and then a week of 4am!rnrnWe are now on day 4 using the Gro Clock and it's already working. This morning she slept 15 minutes past "sunrise" and we are almost ready to start moving the time forward a little each day.rnrnShe just loves "Mr Sunshine" and wants to give him cuddles and kisses each morning.rnrnThank you Gro Company. Fantastic
product.rnrn(P.S. I would also love to see a battery backup, if only because my daughter wants to carry Mr Sunshine around and give him cuddles.)

I love this clock! So much so that 4 of my friends have bought one since they've seen my success. My 3 year old used to get up at 6 now he gets up at 7.30 without fail. He has tried to get up earlier but the threat of taking it away soon stopped that. My only 2 complaints are that if you have a power cut there is no battery back up to keep it set so you have to reset it every time you unplug it. The other is that it is not very portable so maybe a travel groclock? This would be great for taking
to the grandparents.

I was at the end of my rope before a teacher suggested a sleep clock to me! My son is 3 and the number of times he slept through the night and past 5:30in the morning, I can count on 2 hands. After 2 days with the sleep clock, he was speeping through the night and past 6 am! He has always had trouble sleeping and has Autism. For any other mother out there with a child with Autism, this does work! Thank you so much for coming up with such an effective but simple solution!

This was a fabulouse find. I can not praise this clock enough, It has made such a difference to a busy working mum and dad.rnEvery day regardless of what time our 3 year old went to bed she was always up by 6am at the latess! After regardless sticker charts and stratergies it was the same, 6 o'clock on the dot. Then we tried the Gro-clock and have never looked back. She will now wake at 7am when the sunshine in the week is set to appear at 6.40. It is also a delight as she is so proud of her
self saying:rn'I woke when the sun came up not the stars'rnThank you so much for inventing this little clock Xrn

This is a lovely clock, much more reliable than a bunny clock - which we used for our eldest child, so well done Gro!rnrnI think there is one trick you are missing however. There should be a setting where you can program the star (night time mode) to come on automatically at a pre-set time.rnrnWe find it a bit of a faff to activate the clock each time (and then to set the keylock, which invariably we forget, and then our 3 year old comes downstairs 30 mins later to announce it's day time as
the sun is up!).rnrnI would like the default setting to be sunshine coming on and star coming on at pre-set times.rnrnthere you go Gro, get your technical people on to that one (and please send me the prototype to test out on a reluctant sleeper!)

If the power is turned off, does the clock remember the correct time?
When the power goes off, the clock ‘freezes’ all the settings, including the main time, the wake up times and brightness settings. Therefore if the power goes off for a few seconds and then back on, the time will have been paused for a few seconds. However if the power was off say for 3 hours, then the time will be out by 3 hours and will therefore need re–setting.

If I need to keep the power on to maintain the correct time, should I worry about electricity consumption?
No, your clock uses LEDs so it’s naturally energy efficient. However it also has a built–in energy saving mode. One hour after the wake up time has activated, the clock automatically turns off coloured LED lights and runs on a tiny amount of electricity. To re–activate just press any key and the colour LEDs will come back.

What is the difference between the night–time and day–time nap mode?
In a way they are very similar because the clock works in exactly the same way in both modes. Once activated, the clock will count down and the star will change into the sun at the time set in each mode. The reason there are two modes is so that parents who are putting their children to sleep during the day and at night can have the two different times stored, which saves them from having to re–set the wake up times every session.

Can I make the alarm sound at any time and in any mode?
Yes! The time you set for the alarm is independent of the night–time or day–time nap modes. Therefore you could have the sun coming up silently at 7am and then the alarm sounding at 7.30am.

How do I know if the alarm will sound?
The alarm bell icon appears in the cheek of the sun/star when the alarm is switched on.

How can I stop my child from playing with buttons and changing the settings?
Very easily, by using the key–lock function, which is similar to the function on mobile phones.

Is there a demo mode so I can show my child how it changes from the sun to Mr Star?
Yes! There is a built–in demo mode which runs through all the sun and Mr Star transitions. To set the Demo mode on, just press and hold the UP button for three seconds and the clock will show all the transitions on a continuous loop. To turn off the Demo mode, simply press and hold the UP button for three seconds.

My screen has frozen and is not responding to the controls.
Switch the clock off at the mains, wait a few seconds and switch back on.

I've lost the intructions. Where can I get another copy?
